Job Title: Operations Manager Location: [Spring Hill, TN] Reports To: Director of Operations About the Company Apex Moving + Storage, an Atlas Van Lines agent, is a leader in residential, commercial, and logistics relocation services. Position Summary The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operational activities within the moving and storage division, ensuring smooth execution of local, interstate, and commercial moves. This individual will lead warehouse, driver, and crew teams to meet service, safety, and profitability goals while maintaining strong customer relationships and supporting company growth initiatives. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership • Oversee daily operations including dispatch, routing, crew scheduling, and warehouse activities. • Manage fleet utilization and equipment maintenance schedules to ensure maximum operational readiness. • Monitor move quality and service delivery to meet or exceed customer expectations and company standards. People Management • Recruit, train, and develop drivers, movers, and warehouse staff. • Create an accountable and safety-first culture across teams. • Conduct regular performance reviews and implement improvement plans as needed. Customer Service & Quality Control • Resolve escalated service issues quickly and professionally. • Partner with sales and customer service teams to ensure operational alignment and smooth move execution. • Conduct post-move audits and quality checks to identify opportunities for improvement. Financial & Administrative Oversight • Monitor operational costs and labor efficiency to meet budget goals. • Approve timecards, manage overtime, and ensure compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations. • Support inventory management and warehouse storage billing accuracy. Process Improvement & Safety • Implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce claims, and control costs. • Ensure compliance with all safety, DOT, and company policies. • Lead regular safety meetings and maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment. Qualifications • 3–5+ years of operations or logistics management experience (moving & storage industry preferred). • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment. • Strong understanding of dispatching, transportation compliance (DOT), and warehouse operations. • Excellent organizational and communication skills. • Proficiency with MS Office, move management software (e.g., AtlasNet, MoveWare, etc.) a plus. • Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred but not required.
