Associate UX/UI Designers at Amplify create delightful and meaningful product experiences that directly meet the needs of our young learners and their teachers, inside and outside of the classroom, as well as internal authors crafting experiences for those audiences. As a member of the Amplify Literacy Suites ELA design team you will partner with a diverse cross-functional product team of designers, product owners, interaction developers, and curriculum experts to build ELA’s 3rd Edition Curriculum. Essential Responsibilities: Participate in problem solving and design to drive compelling user experiences and awesome digital lessons. Develop concepts, wire frames, interaction flows, mockups, and quick prototypes as well as polished high fidelity designs for student-facing digital activities and resources Collaborate closely with your product, content and interactive developer partners to produce engaging activities and contribute to the overall direction of the ELA program Partner with your user researchers on conducting user research and utilize findings to create designs and rapid prototypes for iterative user testing with teachers and students Participate in collaborative discussions, including listening closely and providing honest, thoughtful feedback to team members Utilize strong and effective interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) Prepare designs for review to design leadership, internal teams and key stakeholders Participate in design reviews and team meetings Develop polished front end designs for handoff to interaction developers, and engage ID’s (interaction developers) in design QA feedback throughout implementation Required Qualifications: 1+ years experience with end-to-end product design with digital visual design, digital product development, or equivalent experience with a BA degree in related field or combination of education and experience Understanding of how qualitative research and data inform product and design decisions Strong visual design and typographic sensibility Interaction design expertise and experience collaborating with engineers Expertise with design tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe CC, Notion) and familiarity with prototyping tools to create interactive design concepts Experience designing responsive desktop and mobile experiences Preferred Qualifications: Experience with digital product design in education technology or a related field Enthusiasm for contributing to the landscape of science education Experience designing with Accessibility as a priority Basic knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and CSS to be able to speak with and iterate on solutions with developers Experience with Content Management Systems (CMSs) Experience with Agile processes Demonstrated ability to gather and document user experience requirements Experience with visual design, interactive motion design or games Any lived experience with teaching or tutoring students ages K-12 A formal education in Interaction Design, Communication Design, User Experience or related field Compensation: The hourly rate range for this role is $35.00-$45.00.
