Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, excellent patient service abilities, and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems. This role is vital in ensuring smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and exceptional patient interactions. The Medical Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing professional support that promotes a welcoming environment and efficient workflow. Duties • Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression while managing multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy. • Schedule appointments using various EHR system . • Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to facilitate accurate billing processes. • Collect payments and perform medical collections in compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing standards. • Maintain accurate medical records by filing documents, reviewing documentation for completeness, and updating patient information within electronic health record systems. • Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient demographics and updating insurance details. • Support medical administrative tasks such as data entry, document review, and maintaining office supplies to ensure efficient clinic operations. • Utilize computer skills in Microsoft Office and specialized software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for office management tasks. • Uphold confidentiality standards under HIPAA guidelines while managing sensitive health information with integrity. Skills . • Strong knowledge of medical terminology. • Proven ability in insurance verification processes for Medicare and private insurers; experience with healthcare documentation review is advantageous. • Excellent customer service skills combined with phone etiquette expertise to handle patient inquiries effectively. • Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations efficiently. • Prior clinic or hospital experience with front desk responsibilities including scheduling, filing, and managing multi-line phone systems. • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in medical records management and health information handling. • Competence in clerical tasks such as typing (including 10-key typing), filing, and maintaining accurate documentation within a fast-paced environment. • Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while demonstrating professionalism in all interactions.
