Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. We are looking for an experienced and technically savvy Senior Corporate Counsel to join the Amazon Leo for Government Legal team. You will help Amazon Leo navigate new frontiers by reviewing government contract solicitations and proposals, providing guidance on subcontracts and technology development agreements, advising on intellectual property matters, and helping to ensure compliance with a wide range of U.S. and international government contracts. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about technology, enjoys being continually challenged, and demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. This position will be based in Arlington, Virginia (HQ2) or Bellevue, Washington. Some travel, domestic and international, will be required. No space travel is required at this time. Export Control Requirement Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Key job responsibilities You will be responsible for identifying and analyzing complex and novel issues with high visibility. You will both work independently to deliver results, as well as frequently collaborate with various legal and other stakeholders on strategic decisions. The successful candidate will work closely with Amazon Leo's technical teams, regulatory teams, business teams, and other legal teams. About the team Our Amazon Leo legal team is a collaborative group of forward-thinking legal professionals dedicated to transforming global internet accessibility. We work closely with technical experts, regulatory specialists, and business leaders to develop innovative legal strategies that support our ambitious satellite connectivity initiative. The base pay for this position ranges from $164,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $272,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
