Our corporate office in downtown Chicago (currently remote) is in search of an energetic and "five-star" service-oriented individual for the full-time role of Billing Operations Specialist (Patient Advocate). The ideal candidate will be outgoing, professional, have great organizational and administrative skills, and excel when multi-tasking. Candidate must have knowledge in accounts receivables, medical insurance process, and insurance policies/benefits. The role pays $45,000-$50,000 per year (based on experience) and reports to our Patient Advocate Team Manager. Primary Responsibilities: Provide exceptional, "five-star" customer service and build rapport with patients. Take a patient-first approach to resolving patient inquiries related to billing. Answer incoming patient calls and e-mails related to billing inquiries. Take ownership of resolution on behalf of the patients in "real time"' or through comprehensive and timely follow-up. Correct and resubmit claims to payers. Review unpaid and/or denied claims and submit appeals. Follow-up with insurance companies, addressing denials and rejections, etc. Perform other Medical/Healthcare billing duties as needed. Requirements: Patient-first attitude and ability to consistently provide 5-star service Minimum 1-2 years of experience in medical billing, Chiropractic and/or Acupuncture billing highly desired 1+ year of experience in a fast-paced healthcare call center or customer service role Energetic and outgoing personality with a desire to help people Excellent oral and written communication skills, including by phone and e-mail Strong attention to detail and highly organized Knowledge of medical billing collection/practices Strong problem solving skills, ability to analyze an issue and recommend a solution Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office We offer competitive compensation and unlimited opportunity with one of Chicago's most exciting and fastest growing health and wellness companies.
