Position Summary: The Application Specialist at Air Power Manufacturing Solutions is responsible for providing technical expertise, support, and solutions for industrial automation equipment and systems. This role involves collaborating with customers to understand their manufacturing needs, recommending appropriate tools and technologies, and ensuring optimal performance of Air Power’s product offerings, including finishing technology, assembly equipment, material handling, and pneumatic automation. The Application Specialist works closely with sales teams, engineers, and field service technicians to deliver customized solutions that enhance customer productivity and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: * Customer Consultation: Engage with clients to assess their manufacturing processes and identify needs for equipment such as sealant and adhesive systems, powder coating tools, or pneumatic automation solutions. * Solution Development: Recommend and configure equipment and systems tailored to customer requirements, ensuring compatibility with existing processes and production goals. * Technical Support: Provide troubleshooting, maintenance guidance, and training for customers on Air Power’s product lines, minimizing downtime and optimizing performance. * Project Collaboration: Work with account managers, application engineers, and project management teams to design and implement turnkey solutions, including data collection, metered dispense, or automation systems. * Product Demonstrations: Conduct on-site or virtual demonstrations of equipment to showcase functionality and benefits to prospective and existing customers. * Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, equipment configurations, and service outcomes using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce or SAP). * Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and Air Power’s product offerings to provide innovative solutions and enhance customer satisfaction. * Field Support: Occasionally travel to customer sites for installations, repairs, or calibrations, working alongside factory-certified field service technicians. Qualifications and Skills: * Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred; Relevant work experience may be considered. * Experience: 8-10 years of experience in industrial sales, application engineering, or technical support within manufacturing or automation industries. Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, SAP) is a plus. * Technical Skills: Knowledge of industrial tools, finishing technologies (e.g., powder coating, electrostatic), material handling systems, or pneumatic automation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required. * Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities. Self-starter with excellent time management and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. * Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel 2-3 days per week for customer visits, with occasional overnight stays. Valid driver’s license required. * Physical Demands: Ability to work in industrial manufacturing environments, occasionally using hand and power tools or lifting equipment up to 50 lbs.
