Why Join Us | DuPont Careers Tyvek® Process Engineer – Manufacturing Technology DuPont’s Spruance, VA plant is looking to fill a position for Process Engineer to join our Tyvek® line of business. Tyvek® is a 100% synthetic material made from high-density spunbound polyethylene fibers. Lightweight, durable and breathable, yet resistant to water, abrasion, bacterial penetration and aging, Tyvek® is an amazing material used to improve a variety of applications across multiple industries. Tyvek® is available in both a hard structure, used for HomeWrap envelopes and medical packaging applications, and a soft structure, fabric-like finish used for protective apparel and consumer applications. Job Description: This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day operation of the production lines and delivering Process Safety Management (PSM), Grow & Improve projects in alignment with tactical and strategic Business Technology objectives. Responsible for providing technical training and coaching to operations technical staff. Provides engineering support for Root Cause Investigations (RCIs). Collaborates across Manufacturing Technology (MT), Operations, Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S), Research and Development (R&D), etc. Leads or participates in Process Hazards Analysis (PHA). First contact in MT for advanced troubleshooting. Leads or supports raw materials qualification or trials for new products. Responsibilities: First contact in Manufacturing Technology (MT) for advanced troubleshooting for Operations. Responsible for providing technical training and coaching to Operations Engineers and Technical staff. Provide required engineering support for Root Cause Investigations (RCI’s). Provides technical input for Management of Change. Applies knowledge of the Tyvek® technology to define and implement solutions for PSM, Grow and Improve projects. Leads or Participates in front end loading of capital projects. Provides technical inputs into Business Technology Plan to meet production goals. Provides technical input into Multi-Generational Technology Plan. Participates in Process Hazards Analysis (PHAs). Leads or supports raw material qualification or trials for new products. Validates technical solutions and documents results to drive toward a standardized Process Technology. Lead or Participate in Project Reviews. Collaborates across MT, Operations, EH&S, R&D, etc. Qualifications: BS Engineering discipline required 5-15 years of manufacturing or related experience required Tyvek® Line of business experience preferred Process Safety Management (High Hazard Process/Low Hazard Operation) experience preferred #LI-JS1 Join our Talent Community to stay connected with us!
